Seedorff Masonry, Inc. was founded in 1957 by Charles W. Seedorff. The company's first projects were located in northeast Iowa. In the early 1960's Seedorff Masonry's business expanded with the increase of school work including Marion High School, Starmont High School and a high rise residence hall for Coe College in Cedar Rapids. Seedorff Masonry became incorporated in 1964 and during the 60's and 70's moved into new geographical markets such as Dubuque, Iowa City, and Des Moines. Steady growth allowed SMI to pursue projects outside the state of Iowa. Contracts were awarded in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Colorado, South Dakota and Nebraska. March of 1984 marked the opening of a regional office in Omaha, NE. This office is responsible for contracts in western Iowa and South Dakota, with specific emphasis in the Omaha and Lincoln, NE metropolitan markets. In 1995 our Des Moines, IA branch office was opened which is responsible for contracts in southern central Iowa.

Engineering News-Record ranked Seedorff Masonry, Inc. as the second largest masonry contractor in the United Sates in 1997. However, it is not the size of our company that makes us successful, it is the quality of our people who contribute as a team to the unparalleled service we provide. We have a record dedicated to high standards of quality, safety and on-time performance.
