We are accepting applications for a Marketing Manager. This individual will lead projects and associated activities that execute marketing objectives, strategies, programs, and policies for all products and services for the organization – both internal and external. Candidates who love variety are encouraged to apply. In this role you will create marketing materials of all types including internal team communications, digital content, print, social media, proposals, press releases, and more. This position is project-oriented, working with a wide variety of teams and departments to create proposals, print and digital content, project narratives, marketing visuals, and incentives to tell our story. Our ideal candidate will also be energetic, personable and engaged with our partners in the design and construction community, preparing for, and participating in, a variety of internal and external events. Here’s an approximate distribution of how you’ll invest your time:

Here’s an approximate distribution of how you’ll invest your time:
- 30% Transform | Media/Material Development: Participates in the development of RFP responses and/or proposals. When working with teams toward deadlines, helps to plan ahead and set realistic goals. Provides necessary marketing materials and support for projects, corporate initiatives, and more.
- 25% Communicate | Communicates effectively with leadership, staff and clients. Maintains professional communication that represents the company well. Anticipates and responds to customers’ needs in a timely manner, maintains marketing efforts frequently, and is viewed by our customers as knowledgeable and friendly. Social Media posts, monthly internal newsletters, and the quarterly publication of Building Better.
- 20% Expand | Identifies competitive advantage and identifies opportunities with architects, clients and contractors as the result of sound market analysis and environmental scanning. Assists in defining a marketing strategy according to differentiation, need and capability of the organization through a collaborative process with our marketing committee. Actively looks for the most cost effective use of our resources. Creates and maintains a marketing budget. Provides monthly marketing activity and budget updates to leadership team.
- 10% Partner with Others | Develops good working relationships with contractors, architects, office and field staff. Cooperates with other departments and support staff, helps others with projects and problems, and does what it takes to ensure the overall success of the organization. Develops relationships with outside vendors and association staff to promote our team and our industry.
- 10% Connect People | Coordinates and delivers products and services to the company and the public to showcase company achievement and service to the community. Produces official media products such as print, web and video communications. Coordinates company and community support events that connect employees to each other and our communities including Old Timers, Family Fun Day, Build Better, Industry Partner Happy Hours, Lunch and Learn Educational Events, and our annual AIA Convention booth.
- 5% Performs other duties assigned. Build Better Company Store administration, Charitable Match Program, etc.
Job Environment
- Working Conditions: This career opportunity will be based in our Grimes Regional Office. Our marketing efforts will influence and impact team members in a variety of positions throughout our organization. Occasional (monthly or quarterly) visits to our regional offices in Strawberry Point, Cedar Rapids, and Gretna, NE will be made on an as-needed basis, as well as visits to individual jobsites as we document progress and tell our story. This will include the occasional use of personal protective equipment as appropriate to ensure the safety of all team members.
