Home for the Weekend:
If you’re home for the weekend and cleaning your home, the CDC offers useful information in the following link: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/disinfecting-your-home.html
The document is entitled “Disinfecting your home if someone is sick” but it’s good practice even if you’re feeling well. Proper cleaning and personal hygiene will help keep us all healthy (and don’t forget to clean your cell phone – they get touched a lot).
Research shows that the virus is not a living organism. It is a protein molecule covered by a protective layer of fat. If this protein molecule comes into contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth and is absorbed, it can mutate and convert into aggressor and multiplier cells. These steps are key:
The virus is also very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat. That is why any soap or detergent is the best remedy, because the foam cuts the fat. By dissolving the fat layer, the coronavirus molecule disperses and breaks down on its own. Hand sanitizers can be effective, but soap is our best defense:

Research shows that the virus is not a living organism. It is a protein molecule covered by a protective layer of fat. If this protein molecule comes into contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth and is absorbed, it can mutate and convert into aggressor and multiplier cells. These steps are key:
- Avoid direct physical contact with others
- Wash your hands
- Cover your cough
- Social distance
- AVOID TOUCHING YOUR FACE
The virus is also very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat. That is why any soap or detergent is the best remedy, because the foam cuts the fat. By dissolving the fat layer, the coronavirus molecule disperses and breaks down on its own. Hand sanitizers can be effective, but soap is our best defense:
- Next week we’ll be distributing personal size dish soap to all field crew members.
- Keep them in your pocket and wash your hands before breaks and lunch, and after restroom breaks and at the end of the work day
