Hands-on Masonry Day Engages Next Generation of Skilled Workforce
November 7, 2019
In early November, more than 80 students from 7 schools gathered at Seedorff Masonry's facility in Strawberry Point to jump in and try their hand at masonry. Throughout the day, students learned about the basics of block and bricklaying, estimating, safety, masonry materials, career opportunities and much more.
In addition to the event in Strawberry Point, the Masonry Institute of Iowa (MII) has hosted these High School Masonry Days in Marshalltown and Cedar Rapids yet this school year as well – in total reaching nearly 400 students. More events are planned for the Spring.
Thank you to MII and all of the volunteers that made this event possible!
